Matt Hejl’s Real Estate Photography Austin
Shooting real estate photography for our listings is a creative outlet that I truly love. Photography was already a hobby of mine, and I enjoyed dabbling in this art form. When I started my real estate career it quickly became a passion. Photography a satisfying way to contribute to our clients and increase our level of service.
At first my photos were OK. The house would look good, but the sky wasn’t blue. Or the inside of the house would look good, but you couldn’t see the great view through the window. There was room for improvement. And, there always will be room for improvement. Every shoot is an opportunity to grow.
I started with basic photography courses on Lynda.com. Their photography courses are a great starting point for people interested in photography as a hobby.
Then I learned to use flash with the video series course by Scott Hargis: lightingforrealestatephotography.com .
Mike Kelley was a great mentor for specializing in real estate photography: Where Art Meets Architecture
My current approach involves taking multiple shots using natural light and adding flash. Then, I blend the exposures together using layer masks in Photoshop. I’m confident that I can deliver high quality real estate photos in any situation.
